Amphibians are ready to emerge from hibernation

2011-03-01

Mild weather of the end of January brought some fire salamanders to the surface. From several regions we received observations on active fire salamanders. Although February came with some cooling, making it difficult for those individuals, who are already active, but their presence on the surface signs that soon the other amphibian species will emerge from hibernation. This time we should be more aware on the roads in order not to hit them, as it is common that they try to cross some. We wait further observations on the first active specimens of amphibian and reptile species!
